The Game Talk Network was founded in December of 2022.
Our Hosts, staff and collaborators:
Tim Aberli (rhymes with “neighborly”) is a lifelong gamer. From RPGs to MTG, he has played them all. Some of his favorites are the original Star Wars RPGs, Deadlands, and In Nomine. In addition to being an RPG geek, Tim is also a cinephile, an avid reader, sports fanatic and a lover of music. Some of his favorite board games are Concordia, Cthulhu Wars, and DC Deckbuilder, but he will play anything at least once. If you see Tim out in the wild please say hi. He loves meeting new people, and maybe you both can get a game in!
Bob:
When Bob was little, he played a lot of classic games like backgammon, dominoes, and a plethora of card games as a way to spend time with family. As he got older, video games, old school RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, and Magic the Gathering got added to the mix. Then around 2010 or so, Tim and his sister introduced Bob to the wide (and expanding) world of hobby board games and he’s been crazy about them since. Bob loves worker placement, skirmish, area control, bag building, and games about war. Anachrony, War Room, and Wonderlands War are among his favorite games.

Mike:
Mike got into board gaming in 2012 when his uncle showed him Lords of Waterdeep and he’s been hooked ever since. His current favorites are Blood on the Clocktower, Scythe, Concordia and Wonderland’s War. In games he likes bluffing and negotiating but he’s a euro gamer first. Mike is a Purdue grad with experience in business, sales and marketing. Other hobbies include watching Purdue sports, Colts, Pacers and Cubs games, fantasy sports, camping, traveling, disc golf and crapping on the teams Tim likes (except the Cubs).

Joshua plays as many games as he has time for and collects minis for games he definitely doesn’t have time for. His favorites include Warhammer: 40,000, Age of Sigmar, Necromunda, and Kill Team. He particularly enjoys the painting and kitbashing aspects of the hobby.

Mitchell started his gaming career as a lot of us did: video games. Starting with the classic Game Boy and moving through all of the generations to today. As the years went on, though, his interests shifted from the digital space to the tabletop. He started playing the card games such as Yugioh in middle school and shifted towards Magic the Gathering once he graduated high school. The real fun started around 2010 when his Brother-in-Law taught him his first miniatures game: Warhammer 40k 5th Edition. Since then he’s tried many new games: Dungeons and Dragons, Warmachine & Hordes, Malifaux, Age of Sigmar, Flesh and Blood, and more. His love for tabletop games shows through his work as an FLGS employee and his new position as one of the friendly faces of Miniatures Rundown!
Coty still considers himself relatively new to the wide world of table top gaming. He has played various Trading Card Games since he can remember and has dabbled in Dungeons & Dragons since about 2016. He picked up his first box of miniatures in 2021 as a pandemic hobby and it took off from there. Painting and modeling miniatures has quickly became his favorite pastime. Warhammer 40k is his primary game right now however, he has recently dove into Necromunda and Kill Team. He looks forward to branching out more and trying many more games and painting more minis.
